This research programme took place from 2002 to 2003 with the support of the Geneva International University Network of Geneva (GIAN). It was carried out by Dr. Sylvain Vité and Dr. Gabriele Porretto under the supervision of Prof. Robert Kolb.It analyzes from a historical and contemporary perspective issues both theoretical and practical, that arise from the application of international humanitarian law and human rights law to the military and administrative operations run by international organisations.
While proposing numerous illustrations drawn from international practice, the study focuses more specifically on Kosovo and East Timor. The results of this research were published in French by Bruylant in the Academy collection in 2005.
