Main Functions

The Girls Rights Platform is an online open database that offers resources and tools to facilitate advocacy for girls’ rights, as well as human rights and gender equality more broadly. It builds on the UWAZI software to provide its information to the public.

The database provides a single access point to over 8,000 instruments issued by over 52 international bodies – including the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, the UN Human Rights Council and the UN Commission on the Status of Women among others – on girls’ rights and gender equality for both advocates and policy influencers. The database is equipped with features that allow users to apply an intersectional lens to their research.
