Alexis Keller is Professor of Legal Philosophy and Head of the Department of Legal History at the Law Faculty of the University of Geneva (UNIGE), as well as Vice-Dean of the Faculty.
He is a member of the Board of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), of the Fondation Tocqueville and of the International Center for Transitional Justice (New York).
He has been a Fellow of the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, as well as a Visiting Fellow at King’s College (Cambridge) and a Visiting Professor at Sciences-Po (Paris). From 2002 to 2004, he served as Special Representative of the Swiss Foreign Ministry for the Middle East peace process.
Alexis Keller is the author of numerous publications in French, German and English in the field of legal history, legal theory and history of political thought.
He holds a PhD from the University of Geneva, an Honorary Doctorate (Doctorat Honoris Causa) from the University of Paris XIII and was awarded the Grand Prix International Condorcet-Raymond Aron in 2004.
