This online event – co-organized with The Eco Ruralis Peasant Association – will discuss the opportunities and obstacles in implementing the right to seeds enshrined in the United Nations (UN) Declaration on the Rights of Peasants and Other People Working in Rural Areas (UNDROP) in Romania.
Representatives of peasant organizations, academia and relevant public institutions will debate about the opportunity offered by UNDROP to protect peasant seeds, agrobiodiversity and the livelihood of millions of peasants in Romania.
Panelists will also discuss the initiatives of production, distribution and exchange of peasant's seeds, which have developed in Romania, extremely popular among peasants and all those concerned about healthy food.
This event will take place online, benefiting from interpretation in Romanian and English.
