The academic year is divided into two semesters – Fall and Spring. Fall Semester runs from September to December and Spring Semester from mid-February to June. Fall Semester is preceded by Orientation Week.
Exams take place at the end of Fall Semester (usually after the Christmas break: mid-January–beginning of February) and at the end of Spring Semester (usually mid-June–end of June). Retakes take place in July for Fall Semester exams and August for Spring Semester exams. The LLM Paper must be submitted by mid-August.
Graduation takes place towards the end of October.

The Executive Master programme runs for two academic years. The first year is dedicated to courses, which start at the beginning of October at the beginning of June. Exams take place in June and July, with retakes in September.
In the second year participants focus on writing their master's thesis. They are not required to remain on campus. The thesis must be submitted in June of the next year and defended in August/September.
Graduation takes place towards the end of October.
