Most courses are taught in English. Some exams can be taken in French and questions in class may be asked in either language. The LLM paper can be written in French.
While the focus is on humanitarian law in all its aspects, the LLM also provides a thorough base in other aspects of international law, which makes it a versatile degree that can lead to a wide variety of career paths, such as mine, working for the Belgian asylum office.
We are a leading education and research institution in international humanitarian law, human rights and transitional justice.
Our LLM students have the opportunity to acquire first-hand professional experience via internships with Geneva-based humanitarian and human rights actors
We offer scholarships to outstanding students who are unable to secure the funding required to cover tuition fees and/or the cost of living in Geneva.
We attract some of the most experienced and academically qualified students from around the world who are taught by leading academics and practitioners in the field.
