Our Student Office is open to our students during opening hours and upon appointment. Students can also continue to contact the staff in the Student Office by email.
Workspaces in the libraries of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Graduate Institute) and of the University of Geneva (UNIGE) are accessible to our students – access might however be limited in order to observe social distancing in all parts of the libraries.
For the Graduate Institute’s Library, students will have to show their Graduate Institute student card to study at the library. The websites of the Graduate Institute provides information about working hours, loan, the scan of documents, or reservation of working places.
For the Law Library at the University of Geneva (Uni Mail), students will also have to show their UNIGE student card to access the premises. The UNIGE website provides information about working hours, loans or reservation of working places. It also gives real-time information about the level of occupancy of the library.
The cafeterias of the Graduate Institute and of UNIGE are open again to the public.
At the Maison de la Paix cafeteria (Graduate Institute), students can use their student card for payment and benefit from a 15 percent discount on the normal price of dishes and receive a 30 percent discount on drinks. A machine to load it with credit is available at the entrance's exterior.
At the UNIGE cafeterias, our students benefit – by presenting their UNIGE card – from reduced prices for two daily dishes at 8,90 and 10 Swiss Francs.
Our classrooms (at Villa Moynier, Maison de la Paix, Uni Mail and Rothschild) have been equipped to ensure the best learning experience, whether in Geneva or online.
Our teaching assistants have been trained on the use of these materials and will help teachers to moderate the discussions and interactions among students in Geneva and online.
Our students have access, via the Geneva Academy Zoom account, to a Pro Zoom account they can use to connect to classes and to organize revisions and discussions with their peers.

Our IT team is available to provide support to students having trouble connecting to classes or tutorials.
The IT team also developed a series of tutorials and short videos for students, explaining how to create a Pro Zoom account via the Geneva Academy, how to read e-books from the Graduate Institute Library and much more.
Students have access to all the information about their programme (Student Guide, Curriculum, Professors, Course Schedule, Tutorials, Recordings, etc.), life at the Geneva Academy (campus, sports and cultural activities, IT and logistics, etc.) on Moodle, conceived as a one-stop platform that regroups all the relevant information.
For the 2021–2022 academic year, we plan to start classes in person, being however ready to adapt the teaching modalities throughout the academic year according to the evolution of the health situation.
We've put in place the necessary IT facilities and support to ensure the smooth running of all our classes in hybrid or online teaching modes if these are required by the evolution of the health situation.
We are adapting rapidly to the situation related to the COVID–19 pandemic and are in a position to ensure continued high quality and interactive teaching for our three master’s programmes.
