A Dynamic and Productive Year

2017 has been an intense and busy year for the Geneva Academy with:

  • Our tenth anniversary
  • More than 60 events, seminars, conferences and expert meetings
  • Several publications and articles dealing with transitional justice, the Sustainable Development Goals, the classification of armed conflicts, autonomous weapon systems or the right to land
  • The education, via our three master’s programme, of more than 80 students in international humanitarian law, international human rights law, international criminal law and transitional justice
  • The coordination of platforms addressing current human rights challenges or the reform of United Nations treaty bodies

Our Impact

Through our distinctive mix of education, research, platforms and convening power, we continued to disseminate legal knowledge, inform policy recommendations, support practitioners, and provide a critical and scholarly forum to discuss and debate topical issues in international humanitarian law, human rights, international criminal law and transitional justice.
