Ashley Bowe has over 15 years’ experience across Europe, Asia, and the Pacific, having worked with organisations such as the United Nations, National Human Rights Institutions, and regional development agencies. In this time Ashley has worked with governments, NHRIs and civil society on the protection and promotion of human rights. This has included bringing the Treaty Bodies out of Geneva to hold regional sessions for the first time in the history of the UN and building digital platforms such as IMPACT OSS and SADATA to enhance national level capacity to plan, monitor and implement human rights commitments.
This training course will delve into the means and mechanisms through which national actors can best coordinate their human rights monitoring and implementation efforts, enabling them to strategically navigate the UN human rights system and use the various mechanisms available in their day-to-day work.
