Exposition Photo: Handicap et Conflit Armé

Cette exposition photo de Giles Duley raconte l’histoire de personnes handicapées durant et suite aux conflits armés: Odai à Gaza, Yasmine en Iraq, Betty en Ouganda ou encore Kholoud, qui a fui la Syrie avec sa famille et vit aujourd’hui aux Pays-Bas après avoir passé presque trois ans au Liban.

Les 24 histoires de l'exposition ne montrent pas uniquement l’impact de la guerre sur les personnes handicapées, mais également leur exclusion de l’aide humanitaire ainsi que des processus de paix une fois les conflits terminés.

Mettre en Lumière les Victimes Oubliées des Conflits

Environ un milliard de personnes vivent aujourd’hui avec un handicap et présentent des incapacités physiques, mentales, intellectuelles ou sensorielles durables. Un grand nombre de ces personnes vivent dans des pays en conflit.

Bien que l'impact des conflits sur les personnes handicapées soit énorme, elles en restent souvent les victimes oubliées.

Afin de mettre en lumière la réalité des personnes handicapées durant les conflits, l’Académie s’est associée au photographe Giles Duley pour raconter l’histoire de certaines d’entre elles.

Accessibilité de l’Exposition pour les Personnes Aveugles et Malvoyantes

Nous proposons, pour les personnes aveugles et malvoyantes, un parcours adapté à travers l’exposition. Ce parcours a été réalisé en collaboration avec le Centre de Compétence en Accessibilité de l’Association pour le Bien des Aveugles et Malvoyants et l’Association Dire pour Voir.

Sur le site de l’exposition, chaque panneau du parcours est muni d’un QR code détectable au toucher, placé sur le bord droit, à environ 1 mètre du sol. Les personnes aveugles et malvoyantes peuvent scanner ce QR code avec le smartphone et accéder ainsi aux textes, légendes et descriptifs des panneaux. Elles peuvent également télécharger l’intégralité du parcours ici.

Les textes des autres histoires présentées dans l'exposition et ne faisant pas l'objet du parcours peuvent également être téléchargées ici.

Deux visites guidées pour les personnes aveugles et malvoyantes, ainsi que leurs proches sont organisées aux dates et horaires suivants: Dimanche 19 mai à 14 :00 et dimanche 26 mai à 14 :00. Ces visites sont gratuites et ne nécessitent pas d’inscription préalable. Elles démarreront du côté Genève de l’exposition.

 Notre Publication Handicap et Conflit Armé

Cette exposition accompagne la publication ‘Disability and Armed Conflict’ issue de notre projet de recherche portant sur les obligations légales des états, des groupes armés et des organisations humanitaires à l’égard des personnes handicapées en temps de conflit et en vertu du droit international humanitaire et des droits humains. Elle énumère ces obligations et formule un certain nombre de recommandations sur la manière dont elles peuvent être mieux respectées afin de ne laisser personne de côté.
